I have found out something about Lily though which is terribly upsetting. When she was just 14 years old and a housemaid in service, she gave birth to twin boys in the workhouse - Alfred and George.  In 1901 census I have traced Ivy in service in Herne Bay and George, one of the twins was in a home/school in Station Road Melford, Suffolk; with a note on the form to say he was from Dr Barnados, but no Alfred.  I am wondering if he had died or had been adopted. They were born in St Marylebone London, baptised whilst in the workhouse; they were born 20th May 1895
